As a seasoned activist, Cheri Honkala has toured the world speaking about necessities of a global anti-poverty movement and the importance of the human rights framework, particularly economic human rights. She shares stories from her personal life as a single mom struggling with homelessness and hunger in the United States, her meetings with anti-capitalist leaders like Fidel Castro, and her adventures with her Hollywood star son, Mark Weber, and artist son Guillermo Santos.

Galen Tyler is a nationally and internationally recognized anti-poverty and human rights advocate. Originally from Virginia, Tyler is a veteran of the U.S. Army, has been a homeless father, and gained notoriety with Kensington Welfare Rights Union and Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign while moving homeless families into abandoned government-owned houses in order to survive. He has traveled internationally to meet with poor people’s movements, and has appeared in numerous documentary films that highlight his work.

Shamako Noble is a hip hop artist, cultural organizer, and political theorist from San Jose, California. As an activist and organizer, he is best known for his work with the Hip Hop Congress. Shamako helped co-found the Congress, and now serves as Executive Director. A well-known advocate for incorporating Hip Hop culture into Education and youth programs, Noble has taught workshops and teach-ins at schools all over the bay area - from elementary schools to colleges - on a variety of topics including the origins of hip hop and organizing and activism in hip-hop culture.
